- The year rating is the place among the 12 clubs in the same draft.
- ※ marks a draft year without five full seasons behind it. With fewer seasons, college and industrial-league picks tend to rate high, and high-school picks rate low until five seasons are in.
- First team in year one means the player reached 100 plate appearances (or 30 innings for a pitcher) in the season right after signing.
- A draft year whose following season is not yet on record shows a dash.
- A pick's rating is its place by output from the season after joining to date, compared over the same number of seasons with the picks of every draft year that has that many; picks with no first-team appearance show —.
- The position is the one listed at the draft.
- A dash in the club column means the player was not found on the rosters.
- Players who did not sign are also counted in the number of picks.
- Past seasons are counted for the players selected, whether or not they are on a roster now.
