S is the highest and G the lowest
※ marks an interim rating in a year without five full seasons. A dash (—) marks a pick with no first-team appearance.
What followed for the players Rakuten selected at the draft, one by one. The list covers the last 15 drafts, and the rating is the place by output from the season after joining to date, against the picks of every draft year over the same number of seasons.
How to read this table
- Established in NPB = reached 100 plate appearances (30 innings for pitchers) in total.
- The list covers the last 15 drafts.
- Regulars counts the players judged to have become first-team regulars.
- The year rating is the place among the 12 clubs in the same draft.
- ※ marks a draft year without five full seasons behind it. With fewer seasons, college and industrial-league picks tend to rate high, and high-school picks rate low until five seasons are in.
- First team in year one means the player reached 100 plate appearances (or 30 innings for a pitcher) in the season right after signing.
- A draft year whose following season is not yet on record shows a dash.
- A pick's rating is its place by output from the season after joining to date, compared over the same number of seasons with the picks of every draft year that has that many; picks with no first-team appearance show —.
- The position is the one listed at the draft.
- A dash in the club column means the player was not found on the rosters.
- Players who did not sign are also counted in the number of picks.
- Past seasons are counted for the players selected, whether or not they are on a roster now.
How to read the list
The list runs from the most recent draft and covers the last 15 drafts. Within a year, controlled picks come first in round order and developmental picks follow. Players who did not sign are listed as picks too.
Rating is the place by output from the season after joining to date, compared over the same number of seasons with the picks of every draft year that has that many. Picks with no first-team appearance show a dash, and years without five full seasons carry ※.
Club now is the club on this season's active or developmental roster. A player on another club's roster shows that club's name. A player not found on the rosters shows a dash. The level for established in NPB is given in the notes.
