Overview
The slider breaks laterally away from the pitcher's throwing arm. Faster than a curveball, it moves sharply from a fastball-like trajectory, disrupting batter timing. Most NPB pitchers feature a slider, and Yu Darvish's slider was highly regarded even in MLB.
